Donkey Experience

Our volunteers tell us that spending time with the donkeys is like therapy.  When we are out in the barn with them they capture our hearts and everything seems right in the world.  We have decided to offer a program that allows others to enjoy these endearing creatures as much as we do.  We will start in the barn and give a short talk about miniature donkeys and go over how to work safely around them.  Each person will be assigned their own donkey to brush and handle for the evening.  We will take the donkeys on a short hike around the farm or on our trails.  There will be several FHF staff/volunteers assisting during the event.  You can be involved as little or as much as you are comfortable with.  Groups are limited in size with safety in mind.  Minimum age is 18.  Children 12 to 17 years of age are allowed to participate if accompanied by an adult (no charge for the adult).  The child and adult will share a donkey.   Please register in the name of the adult.  We recommend wearing sneakers or boots.  Insect repellant recommended.  Facilities and wash station are on site.
